Frontier Films was born in the war torn country of Rhodesia in 1971 where Frank Shields began production on his first film, “The Breaker” a bio on Breaker Morant, drover, horse-breaker, Poet, soldier and ne’er do well extraordinaire who was executed by a British firing squad in 1902. The film was picked up by the ABC and BBC, won Best Documentary at the 1975 Sydney Film Festival and inadvertently spawned a Breaker Morant Industry. Since then, company has produced a number of features and documentaries, several of which have been selected for the most prestigious Film Festivals in the world – Cannes, Buenos Aries, Edinburgh and Berlin. Presently, Frontier Films has a number of features, documentaries & TV series in development.
